Indoco Remedies gains on USFDA nod for type 2 diabetes drug

The said drug is generic equivalent of the reference listed drug, Invokana tablets of Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The product will be manufactured by Indoco Remedies, at their manufacturing facility located at Goa.

Canagliflozin tablets improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Aditi Panandikar, managing director said, ?Besides reflecting the capability of Indoco Remedies to deliver products of high-quality standards, this development also provides impetus to our growth aspirations in an important market such as the US.?

Indoco Remedies is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of Formulations (finished dosage forms) and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

The company's consolidated net profit tumbled 33.24% to Rs 33.14 crore despite of 15% rise in net sales to Rs 465.24 crore in Q2 FY24 over Q2 FY23.
